Country singer Keith Urban remembers his first encounter with wife Nicole Kidman, admitting he felt like he was meeting “a real-life princess,” according to the Daily Mail.

Urban recently opened up about his initial nervousness during the American Film Institute's Life Achievement Award gala where Kidman was honoured for her versatile acting career.

He described feeling out of place because of Kidman's “otherworldly aura.”

Despite being “nervous,” Urban “did manage to get her phone number on a tiny piece of paper.”

“I did, as you probably figured out, pluck up the courage to finally call her,” he added, jokingly.

The musician also took to Instagram to celebrate his wife's achievement in a post. He wrote, “Babygirl – I’m so proud of you, and as much as I could come off sounding like the biased husband, I’ll let the list of previous honorees do all of the talking for me. What a list!”

Kidman and Urban, who married in 2006, share two daughters, Sunday Rose (15) and Faith Margaret (13).
