Celebrities attend White House correspondents’ dinner while pro-Palestine protest unfolds outside
A crowd of almost 3000 celebrities, journalists and politicians attended the 2024 White House correspondents’ dinner at the Washington Hotel on Saturday, April 27.
As attendees arrived on the red carpet, pro-Palestine protesters demonstrated to highlight Israel’s war on Gaza, with a current death toll of 34,000 Palestinians, according to the Guardian.
Scarlett Johansson attended with her husband, comedian Colin Jost.
Da’Vine Joy Randolph, who recently won an Academy Award for her role in “The Holdovers” also posed with actor Rosario Dawson on the red carpet.
Caitlyn Jenner made an appearance with model and reality star Jenna Talackova.
“The Breakfast Club” actor Molly Ringwald and “Pose” actor Billy Porter also graced the event.
“The Marvelous Mrs Maisel” actor Rachel Brosnahan walked the red carpet in black.
During the dinner, President Joe Biden referenced the upcoming elections, ridiculing former President Donald Trump, “I’m a grown man running against a 6-year-old.”
Colin Jost of “Saturday Night Live” also performed a comedy set at the event, making fun of both candidates’ ages, “I’m not saying both candidates are old, but you know Jimmy Carter is out there thinking, ‘I could maybe win this thing.’”
