Get ready for a hilarious collaboration! Keke Palmer and SZA are set to star in a new buddy comedy produced by Issa Rae through TriStar Pictures. While the film's title hasn't been revealed yet, we know through Deadline that it'll be directed by Lawrence Lamont with a screenplay from Syreeta Singleton.  Both Lamont and Singleton have strong ties to Rae,  having worked on her acclaimed series "Rap Sh!t".

Palmer, an established actress, will also be an executive producer on the project through her company, Big Boss.  This exciting venture marks SZA's (born Solána Imani Rowe) official acting debut.  Fans are already buzzing, especially after the pair's fantastic appearance on "Saturday Night Live" in December 2022 where Palmer hosted and SZA was the musical guest.

"I CAN'T WAIT!!!" Palmer shared her excitement on Instagram.

Palmer's recent credits include Jennifer Lopez's "This Is Me... Now: A Love Story" on Prime Video and her directorial debut short film "Big Boss". SZA continues to rack up accolades, recently winning multiple Grammys in 2024 for her phenomenal work.

Filmmaker Lawrence Lamont will embark on his first feature film as a director with this project. The movie arises from Sony Pictures' CoCre Lab, an initiative designed to support diverse and up-and-coming screenwriters.

Fans eagerly await more details about the plot and additional casting announcements.  Palmer's involvement in the long-rumoured "Sister Act 3" suggests more exciting projects on the horizon.
