Suspected Akko Gang members Aqib, Shahmeer, and Salman allegedly robbed a medical store in Faqir Colony, Orangi Town

District west police apprehended three accused for robbing a medical store in Orangi Town.

Suspected bandits, Aqib Alias Akko, Shahmeer and Salman belonged to Akko Gang and allegedly robbed a medical store in Faqir Colony, Orangi Town at Iftar time in Ramadan. Weapons, cash, and mobile phones were seized from their possession.

Surveillance footage of incident has become viral on social media. SSP West, Hafeez-ur-Rehman Bugti said that accused successfully fled from the store after robbing Rs.70, 000 and four mobile phones. It was revealed that one of the employees had tipped off accused about substantial amount of money. Fortunately, shopkeepers did not cash cheques, resulting in significant amount of money being saved. In addition to this, District west police successfully dismantled 25 gangs and arrested over 60 suspects within one month. Identification of all gangs, operating in district west has been accomplished and efforts are currently underway to apprehend all of them. Furthermore, there is a focus on swiftly addressing issue of organized crime in area.

He further said that he is currently self-monitoring all high-profile murder cases in district west, with CCTV footage obtained for each case. Routes taken by accused have been traced and suspects involved in these crimes have been identified. West police is on track to soon apprehend all those implicated in these cases.

Bugti reported that police are currently gathering data on all arrested accused. This information includes their family tree, national identity card (NIC), photographs, past criminal records, and other pertinent information. He mentioned that majority of accused involved in robbery cases in district west are aged between 20 to 35 years. Moreover, it was revealed that 40% of suspects engaged in robbery incidents are known to be drug users.
