Abdul Karim Tordher, the Special Assistant to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Technical Education, Industries, and Commerce, has emphasized the need to transform the technical education sector into a self-sustainable entity, focusing on financial autonomy and skill enhancement.
During his visit to the Government Poly-Technical Institute in Sardar Ghari, he directed the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) to implement measures ensuring financial stability, making the institutes not only centers for skills development but also sources of income generation.
Accompanied by TEVTA’s Managing Director Aamir Afaaq, Director of Finance Munir Gul, and the institute’s Principal Engineer Arif Naeem, Tordher explored opportunities for commercial production within the institute’s workshops and labs.
He urged the management to devise a comprehensive plan for utilizing these facilities for both training purposes and commercial ventures, aiming to maximize their potential for the welfare and sustainability of TEVTA.
Tordher stressed the importance of optimizing training resources and integrating production linkage into the plan, emphasizing that income generated from these initiatives would contribute to TEVTA’s financial stability while fulfilling its mandate of providing practical training to students.
