Coachella week 2: festival fined $28K for Lana Del Rey’s performance

The amount is less than last year's fines, which totaled $117,000.

The Coachella Music Festival is facing a $28,000 fine from the city of Indio, California, because Lana Del Rey's set ran later than planned.

TMZ reported on Monday, that this isn't the first time Coachella has been fined for going past the curfew. Last year, fines for curfew violations totaled $117,000.

A city representative confirmed to the publication that due to Lana Del Rey's performance on April 19 running 13 minutes over, festival organizers will now be required to pay the fine.

The curfew is 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and midnight on Sunday.

Coachella missed the cutoff time on all three nights, going over by 25 minutes on Friday, 22 minutes on Saturday and 25 minutes on Sunday.

Apart from the curfews, many festival attendees enjoyed a special concert by 38-year-old Del Rey over the weekend. She performed her biggest hits and surprised the audience by inviting Camila Cabello to join her onstage.
