Minister for Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar on Sunday said Pakistan dispatched the 8th tranche of humanitarian assistance for the people of besieged Gaza.

The 400 tons of assistance consisted of winterized tents, tarpaulins, blankets, medicines and food supplies and will be transported to the devasted Palestinian enclave via sea, the foreign minister said.

“The shipment will be received by the Pakistani Ambassador at Port Said, Egypt and handed over to the Egyptian Red Crescent for onward delivery to the people of Gaza," added Dar.

"Pakistan remains committed to addressing the urgent humanitarian needs of our brothers and sisters in Gaza,” he further said.

Earlier, Pakistan dispatched multiple batches of relief supplies to Gaza. The shipments contained warm tents, tarpaulins, blankets, surgical/medical supplies, dry food items and hygiene kits as per the ground needs in Gaza.

The aid was dispatched to Al Arish, Egypt, where the Pakistani ambassador received the aid, after which the supplies were sent towards their final destination.
