Taylor Swift thinks Charlie Puth should’ve been a “bigger artist” but Swifties have mixed feelings

On “The Tortured Poets Department’s” title track, Swift mentions her obsession for Puth, shared with an unnamed lover!

Swifties are puzzled about Taylor Swift’s reference to Charlie Puth on “The Tortured Poets Department.”

Taylor Swift released her 11th studio album, with the title track name-dropping several artists – including pop artist Charlie Puth.

The lyric mentioning the singer reads, “You smoked then ate seven bars of chocolate/ We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist."

Some users joked about the reference coming as a surprise to both themselves and Puth.

Others disagreed with Swift’s judgment, claiming that Puth did not “deserve” the esteemed position of a name-drop in one of the starlet’s songs.

Swift has been vocal about her admiration of Puth for years, which appears to be mutual.

Puth, a self-proclaimed Swiftie, gushed about Swift while covering her early hit "Teardrops on My Guitar."

"This is why she's such a genius, man!" he said, praising her songwriting skills. Their admiration went a step further when Swift joined TikTok in 2021.

Puth also welcomed his "fellow Sag" (referring to their shared Sagittarius zodiac sign), prompting a playful response from Swift: "I've lurked your account for ages! Thanks for the welcome, piano prince," she said, adding a crown emoji.

Meanwhile, Swift has been keeping fans on their toes with cryptic messages about her upcoming album, "The Tortured Poets Department."

After months of dropping "Easter eggs" about the album's content, her latest surprise for fans is the sudden release of 15 new songs two hours after the album’s release at midnight!
