Clint Eastwood settles debate on the true colour of his iconic poncho

After nearly 50 years of speculation, Clint Eastwood has finally revealed the true color of his famous poncho from the Dollars Trilogy. Responding to a fan's question on X (formerly Twitter), the legendary actor put the mystery to rest.

"'Dear "Blondie"', the fan asked, '...What is the REAL COLOR of your [poncho] in the Good, Bad, Ugly?...Sometimes Brown sometimes Olive Green on the screens.'"

Eastwood's answer was definitive: "Hello, I only had one Poncho, and it was reversible, with Olive green on one side and brown on the other. Thank You!"

The 93-year-old's iconic portrayal of the unnamed cowboy in Sergio Leone's Spaghetti Westerns made him a star. He wore that same poncho in "A Fistful of Dollars", "For A Few Dollars More", and "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly".

Fans were quick to share their own theories, even after Eastwood's revelation. "I had a shirt like this...In the sunlight it was medium brown," one user shared. Others attributed the color variations to the film stock used.

Eastwood, who still owns the poncho, revealed in a 2020 interview, "I still have that, yeah… it's sitting in a glass case. Never been washed."

The nonagenarian filmmaker remains active in the industry, currently directing and producing "Juror No. 2" – a thriller rumored to be his last film.
