KARACHI:

The bolt of lightning sliced through the RCC roof like a knife through butter, said Feroze Uddin, a resident of New Nazimabad.

Feroze showing the gaping hole in the roof next to a ceiling fan in his house said, "thanks to Almighty Allah there was no casualty and we are all safe."

Feroze's neighbours as well as the local police station's head came to see the impact of the jolt packing millions of volts that went from roof to the ground. SHO Manghopir Sarfraz Awan said the roof of the house was slightly damaged as well as a projection over a window. Moreover, the wiring of the house was charred to ashes due to circulation of high voltage current of the thunderbolt.

"Thanks Heaven, all residents of the house remained safe," he said. The thunder was so loud that people in the locality came out to see what has happened.
