CM announces roti price reduction

Strong likelihood of reduction in the inflation rate to 12.2 per cent next year

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced on Sunday that the provincial government had reduced the price of bread to Rs16 per loaf.

In a message on social networking website X, she said the authorities in all districts and the departments concerned of the province had been instructed to ensure strict implementation of the decision.

“May Allah Almighty bring more ease in the lives of people,” the chief minister added.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz paid tribute to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif over improvement of the country's economic indicators.

She stated that Pakistan's economy has once again started treading on the path of progress. The fruits of economic progress during the tenure of PML-N government are prominently coming to surface. The Chief Minister highlighted, ''The common man would be provided relief with the reduction in electricity rates and price- hike. Big international financial institutions including IMF and ADB highly acknowledge Pakistan's economic policies.'' She said in a statement.

She said there is a strong likelihood of reduction in the inflation rate to 12.2 per cent next year. For the first time, a Rs500 reduction has occurred in the price of a 20kg flour bag and there is a further possibility of Rs300 reduction in the flour price according to market indicators.
