The last of the stars: Fans in awe of Shah Rukh Khan's popularity as he greets admirers on Eid 2024
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan greeted a horde of cheering fans gathered outside his home in Mumbai on the occasion of Eidul Fitr, reported Hindustan Times. As has become tradition, the actor appeared before his adoring public on his balcony and acknowledged the crowd with a wave and a smile.
The crowd had been gathered outside the Bollywood king’s home since early in the morning. The actor shared a video of the scene on X, and tweeted, "Eid Mubarak everyone and thank you for making my day so special. May Allah bless us all with love, happiness and prosperity."
Clad in a traditional white kurta and matching pyjama with his hair tied up in a bun, the renowned star climbed up onto the railing to give his fans a better view, saluted to the crowd, and blew kisses. Fans of the superstar were in awe of the magnetic pull he still commands. According to at least one fan, other Bollywood actors can only dream of aspiring to Shah Rukh’s star power.
Others were in agreement, with one user commenting that the global love for the actor radiated beyond his films.
In staunch agreement with the sentiment, another user took to the micro-blogging site to clamour for more films from the beloved actor.
Proving that love for cinema and its superstars transcends borders, one Pakistani fan also joined in, expressing love and admiration for the international superstar.
Shah Rukh was last seen in the film Dunki, released in December last year. Focusing on immigration and featuring an ensemble cast, the offering boasts a set of colourful characters portrayed by actors such as Boman Irani, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover. However, despite the outpouring of love and admiration for Shah Rukh across social media, Dunki received mixed reviews from audiences and critics alike.
