“It’s up to God at this point” – Jon Bon Jovi on recovery after surgery

The “Livin’ on a Prayer” singer is doing “everything he can” to return to full health and perform with his band.

Jon Bon Jovi is “working hard” towards his recovery following a surgical procedure on his vocal chords, that was carried out back in 2022.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 62-year-old singer revealed he is dedicated to vocal therapy, and is constantly working to improve his condition,

"Day to day, I'm working hard on it. Nothing else matters until I work on getting better. It's up to God at this point. I've done everything I can do."

Despite the challenges, Bon Jovi is determined to return to full health. He affirmed, "I won't compromise who we are as a band live because I'd like to think we're a pretty darn good band."

Reflecting on his recent experiences, he shared, "I sang on the new record. I've done MusiCares and nailed it... When I woke up after that night, it was the first time in a decade the only voice in my head was mine - fear wasn't there, doubt wasn't there - and [my wife] Dorothea texted the kids and said, 'He's back!'"

Throughout his recovery journey, Bon Jovi found solace in the support of his long-time friend and fellow musician, Bruce Springsteen. Describing Springsteen's role as "therapeutic," he expressed gratitude for the unwavering support received during this challenging period.

Bon Jovi's journey, including his struggles and triumphs, is set to be explored in the upcoming docu-series 'Thank You, Good Night: The Bon Jovi Story'.

The singer emphasised the importance of presenting an unfiltered depiction, describing the production as a "warts and all" portrayal of his life and career.

He further said, "I didn’t want a puff piece if we were going to do a film of this magnitude."
