Bridget Jones returns! Renee Zellweger to reprise role in "Mad About the Boy"
Bridget Jones is back! Renée Zellweger will reprise her iconic role in the fourth installment of the beloved rom-com series, "Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy". Hugh Grant also returns as the roguish Daniel Cleaver, and Emma Thompson is set to appear as well. Newcomers to the franchise include Chiwetel Ejiofor and rising star Leo Woodall ("The White Lotus").
Michael Morris ("To Leslie") will direct the film which adapts Helen Fielding's bestselling novel. Fielding also penned the screenplay. In this chapter, Bridget navigates single motherhood at 51, a newfound romance with a younger man, and the ever-present chaos that defines her life.
Universal Pictures will release "Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy" on Peacock domestically on Valentine's Day 2025, with an international theatrical release. Working Title Films is producing, with Miramax co-financing.
The original "Bridget Jones's Diary" earned Zellweger an Oscar nomination in 2001. The franchise has grossed over $760 million worldwide.
