Olivia Wilde, Margot Robbie, and X-Men producer Simon Kinberg are teaming up to bring the comic book heroine Avengelyne to the big screen. Wilde will direct, with Robbie's LuckyChap Entertainment producing alongside Kinberg.

Avengelyne, co-created by Deadpool's Rob Liefeld, is an angel battling demons and evil forces. The project, currently without a studio attached, will be shipped to streamers and studios in the coming weeks. Casting for the titular role remains open.

Previous attempts to adapt Avengelyne for the screen stalled. Notably, Gina Carano was attached to star in 2013, and Paramount held rights for an Akiva Goldsman version in 2016.

LuckyChap's recent success with "Barbie", 2023's highest-grossing film and an Oscar contender, has made them a hot commodity. They'll next produce Wilde's "Naughty" for Universal. Other notable LuckyChap projects include "I, Tonya," "Promising Young Woman," and the Sundance hit "My Old Ass".
