Milk shop owner receives extortion note

Asked for Rs500,000 in ransom within five days

As joyous occasion of Eidul Fitr draws near, criminals have become active instilling fear among people in different neighbourhoods of the metropolis. A milk shop owner has become a target of extortionists at Kabari Chowk in Sector 9, Saeeedabad, on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday.

As per details, a motorcycle rider with his face covered approached the shopkeeper and handed him a threatening note demanding Rs500,000. The biker quickly rode away, leaving the shopkeeper in a state of shock. The extortion note, menacingly worded, asked for Rs500,000 in ransom within five days. If the shopkeeper fails to comply the note threatened him with dire consequences. The note further warned the shopkeeper against reporting the incident to police.

Meanwhile, Keamari SP Faizan Ali assured that police are investigating the matter. The victim, understandably shaken, has filed a complaint with police. Efforts are underway to gather crucial evidence, including footage from CCTV cameras installed in the neighbourhood. Moreover, the mobile phone number provided on the extortion note is being tracked to identify the perpetrators.
