King Charles confirms Prince Harry and Meghan Markle won’t return as working royals
King Charles has shut down rumours regarding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return into the royal fold.
A statement issued by King Charles III said, "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not be returning as working members of the Royal Family but will remain much-loved members of the family."
This decision follows reports of Harry's interest in a part-time royal role due to family illnesses.
The couple are no longer allowed to use the HRH styling or the word royal in their projects. Additionally their Sussex Royal Instagram has also not been active since March 2020.
The statement coincided with the recent change of bios on the site royal.uk. Earlier Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were listed individually, similarly to other family members.
Now, their bios have been joined together, under the section for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
The intro to the section now reads: “As announced in January 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have stepped back as working members of the Royal Family.”
Harry and Meghan’s children were also affected by the website change. Archie (4) and Lilibet (2) had their biographies removed altogether.
King Charles has stated he and Prince William won't accept Harry and Meghan as working royals.
