Prince Harry, Meghan Markle “kidding themselves” to think they’d be invited back to the royal family

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to be interested in assisting with royal duties.

Royal expert and author Tom Quinn says it’s unlikely that the royals will have the Sussex’s return.

"Meghan and Harry still hope they might be asked to become working royals on their own terms," the royal expert told the Mirror. This comes as King Charles III and Kate Middleton undergo cancer treatment.

The expert commented that this possibility is rapidly shrinking.

“The fact that senior royal numbers are seriously down at the moment has rekindled their hopes.”

“As I understand it from palace contacts, they are kidding themselves if they think they will be invited back in any way,” he added.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex left royal life in 2020 and moved to Montecito, California.

In February, The New York Post said Charles might bring Markle and Harry back temporarily. However, Harry is kept away from ongoing succession talks.

Prince William is reportedly stopping Harry's return to protect his sick wife. The Waleses have also kept the Sussexes out of health matters, sources told The New York Post.
