Minister approves promotion of 305 nurses

Discussions were held regarding the installation of prepaid electric meters at Lady Reading Hospital doctor’s hostel

PESHAWAR:

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Health Syed Qasim Ali Shah has approved the promotion and placement of 305 nurses promoted by a departmental promotion committee in the Health Department. The minister said that the Director General of Health Services would announce the placement of the nurses at various hospitals in the province. Following the approval of the Minister of Health, the nurses will be assigned to their respective hospitals.

Of the 305 nurses, 156 have been promoted based on education and 136 on a seniority basis. The Health Minister emphasized that promotion is a fundamental right of employees and that their placement would address the shortage of nurses at various hospitals across the province.

In addition, the Health Minister chaired a meeting with a delegation representing the Young Doctors Association, the Provincial Doctors Association and other forums led by Dr Nabi Jan Afridi, the focal person to the health minister for the health community.

During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the installation of prepaid electric meters at the Lady Reading Hospital doctor’s hostel as well as the concerns of medical officers regarding the matter.
