While the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh attended this weekend’s annual Easter Sunday service alongside their son, James, Earl of Wessex, Lady Louise Windsor was a notable absence.

The absence marked the second consecutive year that Lady Louise Windsor has missed the royal gathering.

The 20-year-old is currently immersed in her English Literature studies at the University of St Andrews in Scotland – a place with special significance as the birthplace of Kate and William's relationship.

The University's website indicates that the weeks surrounding Easter are still considered term-time, followed by revision and exams starting on April 20th.

Lady Louise confirmed her attendance at the Scottish university in the fall of 2022. Now in her second year, her absence from last year's Easter service suggests academic commitments may continue to take priority.
