King Charles III attends Easter service

King Charles III has made his first public appearance post cancer diagnosis, attending the traditional Easter Church service at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor.

Accompanied by Queen Camilla, the monarch showcased a positive spirit as the royal couple made their way to the historic 14th-century chapel, situated within the grounds of Windsor Castle, approximately an hour away from the bustling city of London.

This Easter, a typically grand occasion for the royal family, was notably subdued to accommodate the King's health precautions, reducing his exposure by limiting attendance. 

Despite this, the King's decision to participate in the one-hour service, albeit seated away from the main congregation alongside the Queen, was a heartening sight for royal enthusiasts and the public alike.

In light of his diagnosis, King Charles has temporarily stepped back from public engagements, heeding medical advice. 

Yet, he has continued to attend to his royal duties, managing state affairs and conducting private meetings, including his routine discussions with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, all while handling the daily influx of official documents known as the 'red boxes.'

The absence of the Prince and Princess of Wales, along with their children, from this year’s Easter observance was noted with understanding. 

The family is currently focusing on private time together following the Princess of Wales, Kats’s recent commencement of chemotherapy for cancer discovered during post-operative tests. 

This health update comes after her surgery in January, leading to a quieter Easter season for the royal family.

Kensington Palace had previously hinted at Easter as the likely period for Kate’s return to royal duties post-surgery. 

However, plans have been adjusted to prioritize her health, with official appearances on hold until further medical guidance.

Prince William is also poised to resume his royal engagements by mid-April as their children return to school.
