Kate Middleton's uncle lauds Princess’s bravery during battle with cancer
Gary Goldsmith, the maternal uncle of Kate Middleton, has shared his admiration for how his niece disclosed her cancer diagnosis.
In an interview with the Spanish show ¡De Viernes!, Goldsmith, opened up about his concern and the strength Kate displayed during such a challenging period.
Goldsmith revealed his close communication with his sister, Carol Middleton, to ensure Kate was coping well. "I thought Kate handled it incredibly well, especially in such a difficult and tricky situation," he remarked, emphasizing the unique pressure Kate faced in addressing both her family and the public about her health.
The need for Kate to speak out came amid rampant speculation and concern over her well-being, which reached a fever pitch following the removal of a possibly digitally altered photograph of Kate and her children from social media.
The air of mystery was somewhat cleared on March 22, when Kate herself shared a video message explaining her diagnosis following a planned abdominal surgery in January.
The Princess of Wales is currently undergoing preventative chemotherapy, aiming to address her condition proactively.
Gary Goldsmith also touched upon the impact of widespread speculation and conspiracy theories on Kate and her family, highlighting the emotional toll it may have taken. Despite these challenges, Goldsmith has reached out to Kate with messages of support and love, reinforcing the family's tight-knit bond during this difficult time.
Beyond his familial connections, Goldsmith recently made headlines as a participant in the UK's Celebrity Big Brother, where he was the first contestant to leave the show following a public vote.
