Johnny Depp and Sydney Sweeney to Star in Supernatural Thriller 'Day Drinker'

Johnny Depp and Sydney Sweeney are teaming up for the supernatural thriller 'Day Drinker', directed by Marc Webb (known for "500 Days of Summer" and "The Amazing Spider-Man"). Jeff Sneider's TheInSneider newsletter broke the news.

The script, written by Zach Dean ("The Tomorrow War", "Fast X"), reportedly follows an “enigmatic stranger (Depp) and a bartender (Sweeney) mourning the loss of her lover.” The film is said to explore themes of “love, friendship, and revenge.”

'Day Drinker' marks a major comeback role for Depp following his 2021 defamation trial victory. He recently starred in "Jeanne du Barry" and directed a film about Amedeo Modigliani.

Sydney Sweeney is building on recent successes like "Anyone But You", "Immaculate", and her SNL hosting gig.
