Kevin Hart honoured with Kennedy Center's Mark Twain Prize for humour

Event to celebrate Hart’s career attended by fellow comedians Dave Chappelle, Chelsea Handler, and Jerry Seinfeld.

Comedian Kevin Hart has been presented with the prestigious Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at the Kennedy Center.

Fellow comedians Dave Chappelle, Chelsea Handler, and Jerry Seinfeld celebrated Hart's career with a hilarious (and likely profane) tribute on Sunday, March 24th.

The ceremony, which will be broadcast on Netflix on May 11th, saw Hart, the 25th recipient of the award, express his gratitude to his peers for their support.

Joining the ranks of comedy legends like Adam Sandler, Whoopi Goldberg, and Jon Stewart, Hart's career extends beyond stand-up to include successful film and television acting, producing, and business ventures through his company HARTBEAT (founded in 2022).

The Mark Twain Prize, named after the iconic writer Samuel Clemens, has also been awarded to Julia Louis-Dreyfus, David Letterman, Tina Fey, Eddie Murphy, and Ellen DeGeneres.
