Kim Kardashian is facing backlash over an Instagram post which is now being deemed as insensitive following the announcement of Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis.

While people did not find the post inappropriate at the time it was shared, the public sentiment over the issue has changed after Kate Middleton revealed her cancer diagnosis.

Kate shared, “In January I underwent major abdominal surgery in London, and at the time it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful, however tests after the operation found cancer had been present.”

Critics believe that given the new revelation about Kate's cancer diagnosis being the reason for her disappearance from the public eye, Kim should reconsider the post.

Amid calls for its removal and demands for an apology to the British royal, the comments section under Kim Kardashian's post became a heated space for both supporters and detractors of the reality star..

Meanwhile, actress Blake Lively has issued an apology for her own controversial post related to speculation over Kate Middleton.

Lively took to her Instagram story and said, "Oh man, that post has me mortified today. I'm sorry. Sending love and well wishes to all, always."

Many fans have drawn parallels between the situation and response from Lively and Kim Kardashian.
