KARACHI:

Senior leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and chairman of Dr Ziauddin Hospital, Dr Asim Hussain, following the directives of the party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, gave the relief cheques amounting to Rs0.5 million each to the families of Abdul Rahman Ismail and Abdul Rahman. Both the boys were hit by bullets fired at the party’s election office PS-124 during the election campaign in New Karachi on February 2 by the opponent group. Abdul Rahman Ismail, 16, was injured while Abdul Rahman, 12, lost his life in the firing. The aid funds were managed by PPP candidates Faizan Rawat from PS-124 constituency and Khawaja Sohail Mansoor, candidate from NA-250 constituency. Both candidates also helped the families of the deceased and injured party workers with medical treatment, legal proceedings, and borne all related expenses. Dr. Asim Hussain was accompanied by the party leaders including Faizan Rawat, Khawaja Sohail Mansoor, Muaz Shaikh, and engineer Taimur Syal.
