Teacher arrested for torturing minor student

A teacher allegedly assaulted a third-grade student at the Government Girls High School 67 EB, on Thursday, leaving her unconscious.

District Education Officer Secondary, Sikander Ali, has ordered an inquiry into the matter, and the police have registered a case.

The 10-year-old student, Hira Bano, was allegedly subjected to violence by the teacher Mumtaz Bibi for failing a test.

The teacher reportedly beat the girl with sticks and slapped her, causing her to lose consciousness in the classroom.

The incident came to light when her sister noticed her condition and informed their family.

Upon learning of the episode, parents and local residents expressed outrage and concern, demanding immediate action from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and other relevant authorities.

District Education Officer Secondary, Abdul Majid Baloch, has initiated an inquiry into the incident and has ordered the teacher's arrest.

The victim's brother has lodged a formal complaint at the Sadar police station, urging authorities to take strict action against the accused teacher.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Malik Tariq Javaid Awan confirmed that a case has been registered against the teacher, and investigations are underway.
