LAHORE:

Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supreme leader Nawaz Sharif is gearing up for a journey to Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage and subsequently to London, as per sources within the party.

Nawaz Sharif is slated to embark on a pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah during the final stretch of Ramazan. His sons, Hassan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz, are expected to accompany him during this spiritual journey.

Furthermore, there are indications that Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz may also join the entourage for the pilgrimage.

It is anticipated that Nawaz Sharif will observe Eidul Fitr in Saudi Arabia, following which he is likely to proceed to London for a medical examination. However, the exact departure date for his journey to Saudi Arabia remains undecided.

Sources reveal that the delay in Nawaz Sharif's departure to Saudi Arabia is attributed to the ongoing Senate general election and the illness of Hassan Nawaz's father-in-law.

In a related development, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is also purportedly planning a trip to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah during the final days of Ramazan.
