A person was injured and five members of a family were trapped in separate fires reported across the provincial capital on Friday.

The first incident was reported in a house in Shahdara Town, where a fire broke out and one of the occupants was trapped and received injuries.

He was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. In another incident reported in Moon Market, five members of a family were trapped when over a dozen shops were gutted in a massive blaze. Reportedly, the fire broke out in a shop.

A family lived in the same building and they were trapped in the fire, which rapidly spread to adjacent shops.

Bystanders called Rescue teams and firefighters reached the spot upon information of the incident, evacuating the trapped victims and extinguishing the fire.

A fire incident was also reported at a renowned private restaurant in Fatehgarh.
