Sonam Bajwa has made it to the PSL!

The Punjabi film star reacts to PSL fan’s public tribute

Taking a break from supporting his cricketing heroes, a PSL fan held up a giant poster showing his undying admiration in Punjabi for Indian beauty Sonam Bajwa in the match between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings held in Rawalpindi.

Three large photos of the star were splashed across the bottom of the poster, and soon enough, an image of the fan holding up his sign found its way to the thrilled and flattered Sonam herself.

“What!!!” exclaimed the actor, on X (formerly Twitter). “Is this AI generated?”

Sonam, 34, made her acting debut in 2013, and is known predominantly for her work in Punjabi cinema. She soon established herself as a leading figure in Punjabi films, and went on to garner a PTC Punjabi Film Award for Best Actress for her role in Ardab Mutiyaran. Over the course of her career, she has also received a Filmfare Awards Punjabi – Best Actress nomination for her roles in Manje Bistre and Nikka Zaildar 2, respectively.

This PSL season, however, has proved that whilst she has made a name for herself in the film industry, the Indian actor has also cemented a place in the heart and mind of at least one hard-core Pakistani fan.
