Man abducted, killed by nephew in Pakpattan
A 55-year-old man, a resident of Mohalla Fareed Nagar, was abducted and subsequently murdered by his own nephew on Thursday.
Adil Rafiq, who operated a grocery shop in Chowk Fareed Nagar, vanished after closing his shop for the night.
Concerned by his disappearance, the local traders’ body staged a protest at Chowk Fareed Nagar, demanding action from the police. Responding to the outcry, Fareed Nagar police initiated an investigation, registering a case of kidnapping against an unidentified perpetrator based on the complaint filed by the victim's son, Abdullah.
Twenty hours later, the police received a tip from locals in Kumhari Wala, leading them to the discovery of a body hidden in a sack in nearby fields.
The deceased was identified as Adil Rafiq, prompting the police to launch a forensic examination and transport the body for post-mortem analysis.
DPO Tariq Wilayat promptly formed a team, spearheaded by SP Investigation Shahida Noreen, to expedite the apprehension of the culprit. Utilizing modern technology, law enforcement authorities swiftly identified the perpetrator as Farhan, the victim's nephew.
Motivated by suspicions that his uncle had played a role in his separation with his wife and pressured him to handover the custody of a daughter to his ex-wife reconcile with her, Farhan confessed to luring Adil to his home, where he murdered him and concealed the body under a bed before disposing of it in the fields with the assistance of a female accomplice.
Both Farhan and the woman have been apprehended, with investigations ongoing.
