Beloved Pakistani actor Mahira Khan, hailed as the biggest star in the country, recently sat down for an exclusive interview with Mashion to address swirling rumours surrounding her alleged pregnancy and departure from projects.

The superstar, who enjoyed a stellar 2023 marked by her marriage to Salim Karim in a beautiful ceremony, found herself at the centre of speculation when rumours about her pregnancy surfaced. Reports suggested that the actress had left a Netflix series and a major film due to this supposed development. However, Mahira had already debunked these rumours in an exclusive conversation with The Express Tribune.

Undeterred by the false claims, Mahira took the opportunity to set the record straight once again. She clarified that the pregnancy rumours were unfounded, emphasising that she is in good health and actively working on completing her ongoing projects. Moreover, the star attributed the speculation to perceptions about her physical appearance, stating that people may have misconstrued a change in her weight as a sign of pregnancy.

Addressing the query about the weirdest rumour she heard recently, the star replied, "That I'm pregnant." She continued, "It's so weird. It's just a rumour. I don't know where they came up with it. I think it's because I've put on weight. But then they also said that I've left a Netflix series and a major film. But it's not true." 

In a candid moment during the interview, the otherwise private star shared insights into her personal life, shedding light on her relationship with Salim. Mahira revealed that while she loves many aspects of her husband, there are certain traits she dislikes and tolerates. Notably, she expressed frustration with his reserved nature when it comes to expressing emotions.

"I hate that he's not expressive," said Mahira. "I tolerate that he's not expressive," she added with a laugh. Continuing on, she stated, "Sometimes I like the music to be turned off but he likes the music to be on all the time. It's like the minute he wakes up, he wants the music on. I like listening to the sound of birds."

On a positive note, the actor highlighted what she loves about her husband. Mahira highlighted Salim's understanding nature, particularly when it comes to her preference for solitude during breakfast. This nuanced revelation offered fans a more intimate look into the couple's daily life. "I love the fact that he tolerates the fact that I love having breakfast alone," she said, giggling.
