Achakzai proposes panel to address PTI’s concerns

Appealed to those concerned, urging mercy on country and asserting that responsibility to govern lies with people

ISLAMABAD:

Mahmood Khan Achakzai, the PTI's presidential nominee, has called for the creation of a parliamentary committee to address the party's concerns regarding the recent elections and seat allocations.

Suggesting a committee led by MNAs like Fazlur Rehman, Raza Rabbani, and Mushahid Hussain, Achakzai also proposed a discussion on the imprisonment and release of PTI founder Imran Khan, stressing Khan's status as an "elected member of the house."

Achakzai appealed to those concerned, urging mercy on the country and asserting that the responsibility to govern lies with the people. Addressing Ayaz Sadiq, he emphasised the need for swift action, stating that the assembly's progress hinges on it. The suggested committee, he believes, can navigate constitutional avenues to find resolutions.

“We are the people who must govern this country; I sent a letter to Ayaz Sadiq […] you still have time, this assembly cannot work forward,” Achakzai added.
