Kangana thinks she's embodying Lata Mangeshkar by not attending Ambani celebrations

While the who's who of Bollywood bedazzled the extravaganza with their presence, Kangana opted for a distinctive route

In a recent instalment on her Instagram story, the outspoken Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut appeared to take a rather not-so-subtle jab at her industry colleagues who graced the opulent pre-wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.

While the who's who of Bollywood bedazzled the three-day extravaganza with their presence, Kangana opted for a distinctive route, drawing intriguing parallels with none other than the legendary Lata Mangeshkar.

In an intriguing twist, Lata Mangeshkar's sister, Asha Bhosle, disclosed in an aged interview that the iconic singer had purportedly declined substantial offers to perform at private events. Kangana, seizing this revelation, shed light on her own unique journey, articulating, “I have been through worse financial setbacks, but Lata ji and I are only two people who have massive hit songs (Fashion ka Jalwa, Ghani Baawli Ho Gayi, London Thumkda, Sadi Galli, Vijay Bhawa etc.) to our credit.”

The Queen actor further explained her stance, emphasising her refusal to dance at weddings or accept offers for superhit item songs and award shows. Kangana stressed the importance of character and dignity in the face of fame and money, advocating for the wealth of integrity in a world of shortcuts. “But no matter how many temptations I got I never danced in the weddings, many super hit item songs were also offered to me, soon I avoided award shows also. It takes strong character and dignity to say no to fame and money, in the world of short cuts young generation needs to understand only wealth one can acquire is the wealth of integrity," shared the star.

Although Kangana didn't explicitly detail why she finds dancing at weddings undignified, her message resonates with her commitment to maintaining artistic and personal integrity. The Ambani pre-wedding celebrations in Jamnagar saw a star-studded attendance, including renowned Bollywood figures, such as  Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Vicky Kaushal, Ram Charan, Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Kareena Kapoor, among others. Foreign dignitaries and business leaders also graced the event. Rihanna, Akon, and Diljit Dosanjh headlined private concerts, while popular singers added musical flair to the extravagant affair.

As Kangana stands firm on her principles, her stance adds a layer of reflection in an industry often associated with glitz, glamour, and grandeur. Whether her colleagues take heed of this message remains to be seen in an entertainment landscape continually evolving.
