Catching the bad guys: Sukkur city, crime free since Eid says police
Deployed extra policemen at the main bazaars, shopping centres and highway, no robbery took place the entire month.

There was no robbery in the city or the highway because of the stern measures we took during Ramazan and Eid, declared Sukkur SSP Ismail Memon at a press conference on Monday.
He claimed that usually in Ramazan crime spikes because a large number of people from different districts come to shop in the city, especially during the last week. But by deploying extra policemen at the main bazaars, shopping centres and highway no robbery took place the entire month. He claimed that during August, the authorities arrested more than 150 criminals and seized a huge quantity of arms and ammunition. He added that on August 17, a police constable was killed by a group of bandits when they raided a police check post near Pano Akil and stole two G-3 rifles.
“The police arrested three suspects including Mithal Korai and seized two TT pistols, one gun and two G-3 rifles,” he said. Recounting previous incidents, he claimed that on July 25 a solider was killed in a motorcycle-snatching attack within the limits of Sangi police station. The authorities arrested Aijas and Farid Jagirani.
