A video capturing a moment between newly-elected Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and PML-N leader Uzma Kardar went viral over social media, as Nawaz appears to remove Kardar's hand from her shoulder after a hug.

The incident unfolded following Nawaz's oath-taking ceremony at the Governor House in Lahore, where she clinched a significant victory over PTI-nominated Rana Aftab to become Punjab's first female chief minister.

In the viral video, Kardar warmly embraces Nawaz, but the latter swiftly removes Kardar's hand from her shoulder, seemingly surprising Kardar.

Acknowledging her own oversight, Kardar expressed understanding towards Nawaz's reaction. "It was my mistake, if I had been Maryam Nawaz, I would have reacted the same way. I should have been more careful," she admitted.

Kardar also spoke of the respect and affection she has received from Nawaz, addressing critics who questioned Nawaz's support and party ticket allocation.

"You people are deeply shocked at how Maryam sahiba has supported me and given me a party ticket. I will send you Bernol," she responded to online trolls.
