Marwat served show-cause notice for belittling Gohar
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday issued a show-cause notice to party leader Sher Afzal Marwat over his televised remarks against party’s Acting Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan.
Talking to a private news channel on Friday night, Marwat claimed that Barrister Gohar was “removed as the party chairman over his unsatisfactory performance”.
Marwat said, “Incompetence and poor performance are the reasons behind Gohar’s removal as chairman. Barrister Gohar is a gentleman but his performance was not satisfactory, especially following the February 8 elections with regard to rigging.”

In response to a question, he said Gohar had failed to live up to the party and its workers’ expectations, as to run a party office, one had to be active all the time, but this was not the case.
The PTI told Marwat that he went against the party policy and gave a statement which caused significant distress that could not be tolerated.
“You are required to tender an unconditional apology within two days. If your reply is unsatisfactory or you do not respond, further action will be taken as per the party policy and rules,” the letter sent by PTI’s central secretariat said.
Marwat, however, took a significant step towards reconciliation by meeting with Khan at his residence in Islamabad.
In a video circulated on social media, both leaders were captured embracing, with Marwat expressing his commitment to reconciliation by repeatedly expressing gestures of goodwill, including kissing Barrister Gohar.
