Indian actor-philanthropist Sonu Sood shares heartwarming encounter with Pakistani fan

Actor took to IG with a picture with the fan he met in Istanbul

In a touching moment transcending borders, Indian actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood recently shared a special encounter with a Pakistani fan during his visit to Istanbul. Known for his humanitarian efforts, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, Sood was embraced by a gesture of goodwill from the Pakistani admirer.

Although Sonu Sood couldn't recall the fan's name, the actor took to Instagram to narrate the touching experience with a carousel post. "Recently on my trip to Istanbul, I met this angel who was from Pakistan,” penned Sonu in the post’s caption.

“I don’t remember his name, but on seeing me, he hugged me tight and forcefully slipped a 20-pound note in my hand and said, 'My son, you have been doing some amazing work for the poor. This is a small contribution from my side. Help someone in need,” the actor furthered on.

Sonu shared a picture alongside the fan while another showed the 20-pound note that was presented to him during the encounter. Expressing his overwhelming gratitude, Sonu acknowledged the fan's generosity, stating, "Was so overwhelmed by his kind gesture; this is more than a million dollars for me. God bless him always.”

The heartening encounter showcases the power of compassion and transcends geographical boundaries, emphasizing the shared humanity that connects people across borders. Sonu's commitment to philanthropy continues to resonate globally, uniting admirers in acts of kindness and goodwill.

In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, Sonu had offered his hotel in Mumbai to medical professionals to be used as a residence for the treatment of corona patients.

He told The Times of India, “It’s my honour to be able to do my bit for the doctors, nurses and para-medical staff of our country, who have been working day and night to save people’s lives. They hail from different parts of Mumbai and need a place to rest. We have already approached municipal and private hospitals and informed them about the facility.”

The actor has been providing meals to 45,000 Mumbaikars every day in Andheri, Jogeshwari, Juhu and Bandra. Speaking to Mid Day, he said, “Some of us are blessed to have food and shelter in these tough times, but there are many who have not had meals in days. To help them, I’ve started a special food and ration drive, named after my father. I hope I am able to help as many people as possible.”
