PTI sounds alarm over Bushra's health, urges urgent medical inspection
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) expressed deep concerns on Thursday regarding the deteriorating health of Bushra Bibi, the spouse of PTI founder Imran Khan, who is currently confined to the couple's Banigala residence, designated as a sub-jail after their conviction and sentencing in the Toshakhana case.
Mashal Yousufzai, the spokesperson for Bushra Bibi and a PTI lawyer, took to the social media platform X to share distressing revelations about her health. According to Yousufzai, Bushra Bibi disclosed that she had been given a harmful substance resembling acid in her food, causing intense pain for the past five days.
Yousufzai detailed the severe effects on Bushra Bibi's health, including a feeling of her stomach being on fire, severe sores in her mouth and throat, and difficulty in consuming anything except dry toast dipped in tea or water.
Yousufzai issued a stark warning, stating that there is a "serious threat" to Bushra Bibi's life and urgently called for a medical inspection.
PTI's official handle on X accused the "fascist regime" of maliciously attacking Imran Khan's wife and denying her necessary medical aid. The post conveyed a strong message that those responsible for such acts would be brought to justice, asserting the resilience of Pakistan and the strength of Khan.
In response to the distressing situation, the PTI urged higher courts to intervene, emphasising the urgency of the matter.
PTI Senator Faisal Javed called on the party's core committee to take notice, highlighting the gravity of the situation.

PTI social media head Jibran Ilyas expressed deep concern about the alleged poisoning of Bushra Bibi's food and called for a full medical checkup, urging respect for the women of the country and condemning actions that cross ethical boundaries.
Khan and Bushra were sentenced to 14 years in jail in the Toshakhana reference last month on charges related to retaining expensive jewelry. Two days later, they were given an additional seven-year sentence for contracting marriage during the 'Iddat' (period of waiting). While Imran remains incarcerated at Adiala Jail, the government converted the Banigala residence into a sub-jail for Bushra.
On February 6, Bushra approached the Islamabad High Court against the notification declaring her Banigala residence a sub-jail, seeking a transfer to Adiala Jail.
