AB de Villiers admits sharing 'false information' regarding Anushka-Virat's second child
It was only recently that fans were celebrating the confirmation of news surrounding Anushka Sharma's rumoured second pregnancy. While numerous videos of the star gracefully carrying a baby bump have circulated, cricketer AB de Villiers' confirmation of the matter seemed to seal the deal.
However, now, in an exclusive interview with Dainik Bhasker, AB de Villiers candidly acknowledged making a significant error by disseminating false information. Emphasising the priority of family, de Villiers expressed regret, stating, "Family comes first, it's priority, as I said on my YouTube show. I also made a terrible mistake at the same time - sharing false information, which was not true at all.”
While acknowledging that the true reasons for Virat Kohli's break remain undisclosed, de Villiers extended well wishes to his friend, hoping for his return stronger, healthier, and ready to conquer the world. “Whatever the reason is for this break, really hope that he comes back stronger and better and healthier and fresh and ready to take on the world again," he added.
The mystery surrounding Kohli's decision to skip two test matches against England fueled speculation, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) being informed of his withdrawal due to "personal reasons." AB de Villiers, in a live session on his official YouTube channel, had previously asserted that Kohli was taking the break to welcome his second child.
In his own words, "So, yes his second child is on the way, it’s family time. You cannot judge Virat for that, and yes we miss him but he’s made the right decision. We wish him all the very best for the great blessing of being able to become a father for the second time and all the best to Anushka as well.”
While fans of the couple initially celebrated the news of their second child, doubts have emerged as AB de Villiers admitted to spreading misinformation. The joyous revelation about the couple's expanding family might have been short-lived, as the accuracy of the news now comes into question.
