I don’t really think about marriage now, I have kids and I’m at peace: Mikaal Zulfiqar
In a recent interview, celebrated actor Mikaal Zulfiqar opened up about his divorce and his decision to remain single in the foreseeable future. Mikaal, known for his acting performances in Jaise Aapki Marzi and Chauraha, talked about his personal life during a conversation with host Wasi Shah on a talk show.
The actor, who finalised his divorce from longtime partner Sara Bhatti in 2017, addressed questions about his relationship status and the possibility of entering into another marriage. Mikaal expressed a clear stance, stating that he was content with being single despite his family’s insistence.
“I was visiting the United States recently,” the celeb recounted a recent anecdote with his family regarding the subject. “My father said you can find a foreign woman there [for marriage],” Mikaal shared with a laugh.
The actor further relayed how he is at a good place in his life right now with his children and feels no necessity for marriage yet. “I don’t really think about marriage now. I have kids, I am at peace,” Mikaal offered before remarking on Wasi’s expression of doubt. “Why do you want me to [marry]?”
Mikaal’s openness about his post-divorce mindset resonated with fans, as many appreciated his honesty and vulnerability. Social media buzzed with supportive messages, applauding the actor for his candidness and wishing him success in his journey ahead.
Last year in December, the former model extended one crucial life advice for anyone in search of a prospective romantic partner. Appearing as a guest on a talk show with host-actor Imran Ashraf, Mikaal emphasised the importance of knowing someone and building a genuine connection before considering marriage.
"I would suggest just one thing: get to know the person you're planning to marry," the actor dispensed his wisdom. “It’s important to know the person before you consider [marriage],” Mikaal added. The celebrity further iterated how everyone should take their time before taking the big leap. “This decision should not be made in haste…Just know the person and know yourself,” he added.
Mikaal tied the knot with Sara in 2010. In 2017, the Sherdil actor announced that he and his wife had gotten divorced shortly after rumours about the couple's relationship began to circulate on the internet. In a Facebook post, Mikaal said that he and Sara decided to officially end their marriage after a long separation.
"Wanted to say this for a while. Finally found the courage to do so,” the actor penned in the short note. “Sad to announce, unfortunately, my marriage of 6 years has ended. After a long separation and despite efforts from both ends, things could not be resolved, which has resulted in divorce.”
