In a heartwarming Instagram post late Saturday, Pakistani cricketer, Shaheen Shah Afridi, commemorated his first wedding anniversary with his wife, Ansha Afridi. The left-arm fast bowler, known for leading the Men in Green's pace attack across all formats, shared an adorable photo and penned a sweet note to mark the special occasion.

In the posted image, Shaheen and Ansha, the second daughter of cricket legend Shahid Afridi, stood side by side in front of an ornate wreath of pink, peach and white flowers, carrying the celebratory message in cursive: “Happy Nikah Anniversary, Ansha and Shaheen.”

"Happy first wedding anniversary, my soulmate, my lifeline!" expressed Shaheen in the IG post’s caption, accompanied by the affectionate snapshot. The post continued with a heartfelt message expressing gratitude and love. "I will always be grateful to you for all the things that you have done for me and that made my heart swell with joy.”

“Thank you for being my strength throughout the year. Here’s to many many more years to come, In shaa’Allah," Shaheen concluded, reflecting the couple's commitment to their journey ahead.

The T20I skipper tied the knot in an intimate Nikkah ceremony on February 3, 2023. Becoming the talk of the town, the formal wedding nuptials were held in September last year. The wedding was a star-studded event, which was attended by Babar Azam, the former captain of the Pakistan national cricket team as well as other prominent personalities and Pakistani celebrities.

Well-known broadcaster Sawera Pasha was photographed alongside Shaista Lodhi and Javeria Saud in attendance at the event. Pakistani mega stars Humayun Saeed, Adnan Siddiqui, and Fahad Mustafa were also present at the event. Actors Aijaz Aslam and Junaid Khan were also spotted taking selfies and pictures with the groom on stage.
