ISLAMABAD:

The female residents of Media Town on Thursday protested against the provision of Sui gas for less than an hour a day, threatening to stage sit-in on Islamabad Expressway along with their children after 15 days.

The protesting women, who assembled outside the Media Town society office for demonstration during rain and amid cold weather, demanded the gas authorities to improve gas pressure to the town and otherwise they would have no other option except to block the expressway.

They alleged that the Sui gas authorities were doing unscheduled gas shutdown or providing extremely low gas pressure in A Block of Media Town.

Flanked by their children, the women protesters were holding play cards and chanting slogans against discriminatory attitude of the authorities concerned.

The protesters complained that gas is being supplied with low pressure only for half an hour in the morning and 20 minutes in the evening.

They further said children and elders are getting sick due to cold wave, while children are forced to go to school and men and women to offices without breakfast.
