Candidates issued notices for breaching code of conduct

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is rigorously monitoring the adherence to the code of conduct during the 2024 general election campaigns in Sindh.
Provincial Election Commissioner Sindh, Sharifullah, has issued instructions to ensure the comprehensive enforcement of the code of conduct. Consequently, a notice has been served to Muhammad Younis Bari, a candidate from Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), for violating the code of conduct in PS-99 Karachi East.
Furthermore, a similar notice has been issued to Haider Imrani, a leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), for code of conduct violations in PS-100 Karachi East.
Meanwhile, the District Monitoring Officer in Dadu has sought an explanation for the placement of party flags on electricity poles in PS-80 Dadu.
Notices have also been sent to workers of various political parties for breaching the code of conduct in PS-84.
In parallel efforts across Karachi Central, South, Kemari, Tando Allahyar, Khairpur, Malir, Korangi, Larkana, and Ghotki, the ECP is monitoring teams have taken action by removing illegal signboards, posters, banners, flags, and all other campaign materials from public thoroughfares.
Campaign materials posted in public parks, government buildings, and traffic signals have also been removed.
