Sattar inaugurates party office at Pakistan Chowk

Sattar urges people to scrutinise 15-year-rule in province and take stock of alleged destruction caused by ruler

KARACHI:

Dr Farooq Sattar, Senior   Deputy Convener of Muttahida  Qaumi Movement-Pakistan  and   candidate for National  Assembly constituency NA- 241 on Sunday inaugurated  his main election office at  Pakistan Chowk.  Engaging in corner meetings in PNT Colony areas   and the Cantonment Board, he later interacted   with the youth in the commercial areas of DHA   Phase-VIII During the corner meetings, Dr Sattar appealed to the citizens of Sindh, particularly Karachi, to cast   their votes for the kite symbol on February 8. He urged the people to scrutinise the 15-year-rule in the province and take stock of the alleged destruction caused by the rulers.

Highlighting the fiscal   disparities, he emphasised that Karachi contributes   R4,000 billion in taxes but receives only Rs40 billion in return.  He asserted that unless   Karachi is granted its rightful share, at least Rs400   billion, the city will reconsider its substantial tax   contribution to the federal government.  The MQM-P   leader stated, it’s time to   oust those who have been in power for 15 years and   delivered nothing except for serving their own interests.  In discussions with Christian and Hindu communities, Dr Sattar affirmed his party’s commitment to providing minorities with a direct role in the elections
