Allama Iqbal E-Library at Liaquat Bagh is a new and perfect place for students and book lovers who appreciate the combination of studying and reading with a cup of tea. This unique library not only provides a beautiful ambience but also offers complimentary tea, making it an ideal setting for focused reading.
Rawalpindi Division Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chattha on Friday visited the E-Library and reviewed the facilities. The official directed the authorities concerned to improve the facilities in the E-Library as per students’ suggestions.
The library staff informed the commissioner that now the library has been opened to the public and on average 150 people visit the library daily. The commissioner also interacted with the people who were there to study in the library and inquired them about the facilities provided there.

The membership fee of the library is Rs250 and the yearly renewal fee would be Rs50. Six computers, student lockers and a children’s room had also been specially built in the library.
The commissioner said that complimentary tea is also being provided to the students to visit the library as a goodwill gesture. In its up-gradation, special arrangements were made to equip the library with modern technology, he said and added that there were over 50,000 books in the library, out of which about 800 are for competitive exams.
A separate place would be allotted for the students of the competitive examinations. Chatta directed the officials concerned to allocate a separate space for the people who come to read newspapers and magazines. “We aim to provide a pleasant environment to every student coming to the library so that the atmosphere of knowledge and friendship could be promoted,” he said.
