Attack on election commissioner's office claims cop's life in Turbat
Tragedy struck the Regional Election Commissioner's office in Turbat, Balochistan, on Thursday as unknown assailants opened fire, resulting in the martyrdom of a police officer on duty, officials said.
The victim, identified as Nimroz, son of Shabbir and a resident of Meeri Kalag, lost his life in the line of duty during the attack.
Caretaker Chief Minister of Balochistan, Ali Mardan Khan Domki, promptly condemned the incident and demanded a comprehensive report from the Home Department. He expressed condolences to the bereaved family of the martyred police officer.
In his official statement, Chief Minister Domki denounced the attack as not only condemnable but also perceived it as a deliberate attempt to disrupt the peaceful election process. He asserted that such incidents aim to instill fear and create chaos.

"The government is committed to ensuring a peaceful and conducive environment for the public and candidates in the lead-up to the general elections scheduled for February 8," stated Chief Minister Domki.
Simultaneously, in another unfortunate incident in Tehsil Sui, Dera Bugti area of Balochistan, a timed explosive device detonated, resulting in injuries to two individuals.
The authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
