11 killed in Punjab road crashes

Analysis shows those 524 drivers, 34 underage drivers, 130 pedestrians, 335 passengers were among victims

At least 11 people died, whereas 978 were injured in 900 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) across Punjab during the last 24 hours.

Out of these, 397 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 581 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue Medical Teams. The majority (69%) involved motorbikes.

Furthermore, the analysis showed those 524 drivers, 34 underage drivers, 130 pedestrians, and 335 passengers were among the victims of road traffic crashes. The statistics show that 216 RTCs were reported in Lahore which affected 227 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 59 in Faisalabad with 55 victims and at third Gujranwala with 44 RTCs and 47 victims.

The details further reveal that 989 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 812 males and 177 females, while the age group of the victims shows that 147 were under 18 years of age, 570 were between 18 and 40 years and rest of the 272 victims were reported above 40 years of age.
