Work on Kahuta Road to begin soon

RAWALPINDI:

Repair work on the dilapidated Kahuta Road, which is the easiest and the shortest possible route to travel to Azad Kashmir is set to begin on February 1, 2024.

While talking about the route, Rawalpindi Division Commissioner Laiqat Ali Chatha called Kahuta Road as a defence route that maintains Rawalpindi’s connection with Azad Kashmir.

He said the dilapidated condition of the road due to heavy traffic and landslides was causing inconvenience for the locals of the area. He informed that repair work on S-5 will begin after necessary formalities and is targeted to be completed in the next three months. He directed the administration of Rawalpindi and Azad Kashmir to ensure the provision of security and other facilities to the engineers on site in this regard.
