LAHORE:

India’s cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu is scheduled to visit Gurdwara Darbar Sahib via the Kartarpur Corridor on Wednesday (today).

The corridor facilitates visa-free border crossing for Indian Sikhs and enables them to visit the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib near Lahore. It links the shrine in Pakistan to Gurdwara Dera Baba Nanak, Gurdaspur district in Indian Punjab.

Sidhu played an important role in the establishment of the Kartarpur Corridor along with then prime minister Imran Khan and Pakistan’s army chief in 2019 which made him hugely popular in both Pakistan and India.

In a message on his social media platform, Sidhu said he would reach Gurdwara Darbar Sahib at 11am on Wednesday. He said he would continue to spread the message of peace and universal brotherhood.
